London on a Deal, or maybe call it a STEAL

I Love, love, love a budget flight.  That's like winning the lotto to me.

The girls and I in China Town

Naturally when I saw ticket prices non stop from Fort Lauderdale to London Gatwick for $350 round trip, You know I felt like I had won a grand prize! Dates chosen were Memorial Weekend, May 23rd - 27th and best of all the flight was non-stop.  What a bargain!.

The timing was a perfect gift and girls trip for my daughter and her best friend who just graduated from college.  We paired the cheap ticket with a ultra nice 2 bedroom stylish Airbnb that only cost $365 and most importantly, was walking distance to Victoria Station.  Talk about BUDGET! this was definitely that.

The girls enjoying the Tower of London

Being in the center of everything was great.  We booked a 48 hr ticket for the hop on hop off bus because its always a good way to see lots of places in a short time and also piggy back as transportation as well.  We also booked a day trip to Stonehenge and Bath.

Stonehenge

This trip was short, but boy did we have fun!.   Have you done short trips like these and would you?
Traveling can be so much fun and even more fun on a steal as this.

The Maldives on a budget

The Maldives on a budget ....

I stayed in the island of Maafushi.  Maafushi is just one of the many islands that makes up the the Maldives and where most of the locals lives.  To get here you must fly into MalĂ© and take a ferry or speed boat to the island. I arranged speed boat transfer with the hotel for $25 one way and which took around 35 minutes as oppose to ferry for $2 but takes 90 minutes.

My  stay here was 4 days.
I did a sunset cruise photoshoot which was offered by the hotel for $35 and a day trip for $130 to the over the water bungalows which included meal, all the alcohol  you can drink and transportation.

I  spent a total of $600 for this part of the trip seeing I was coming from Dubai excluding airfare which includes shuttle transportation, hotel, photo-shoot, day trip and food  for the 4 days.

I stayed at the Arena Grand Beach Hotel with my hotel room over looking the beach ... it was beautiful... breakfast was included in the price of the hotel ...  the food was also delicious and service awesome...

I would not waste money on a over the water bungalow starting @ $500 per night and up unless your the traveler who likes to relax and stay one place.

Welcome To Laugh Travel Live

I want to welcome you to my solace, Laugh Travel Live!

Traveling has always been a goal and passion of mine.  I have always wanted to see the many cultures that make up the world and it's people to confirm my beliefs that we are more alike than different and the difference can be appreciated and embraced in love.

Growing up in Jamaica my grandparents especially my Grandpa always said, "it is better to see the world through your own eyes than hearing it, it is then you will appreciate it's differences and it's beauty".  Grandpa was right!

To travel or not travel? my resounding answer is definitely to travel.  In my blog I will share places I have been and cost related to traveling there as well as any restrictions and requirements necessary.  It is my firm believe that we all can reach and teach each other in love, so I implore you to communicate and ask any question you have on travel.

Hope you will find this space a place of wisdom and enjoyment! One World, One Love!
